Give students the facilities, faculty and programs that make a difference.
Maybe you’ve seen firsthand how a supporter’s generosity can change the life of a student, maybe you’ve given before and know the feeling you get from helping others, or maybe you want to get involved because Benedictine means a great deal to you.
Whatever your story – you can get involved and make a direct impact on making Benedictine one of the great Catholic colleges in America so that students can achieve their full potential and continue God’s work through their talents and skills.
How to make your gift
You have a variety of options available to you for making a gift that will have an impact now. Click on the different ways to give below.
Give through your donor advised fund
Stocks and bonds
In addition to providing a significant gift, donating stocks and bonds lets you receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full market value of the stock up to a maximum of 30 percent of your adjusted gross income and avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the value of the stock.
When you redeem savings bonds, you or the person to whom you leave your bonds will owe income tax on the appreciation. You can eliminate the income tax on bonds you own that have stopped earning interest and that you plan to redeem. Since Benedictine College is tax exempt, 100 percent of your gift of savings bonds will support our shared vision for the future of the College and its students.
Contact Kelly Vowels, Vice President for Advancement, at 913.360.7418 or email@example.com for any questions you have about using appreciated stocks and bonds to enrich education for Benedictine Students.
Do you have a property that’s no longer needed? Or, have you decided that you would like to leave your property to Benedictine College for the benefit of future generations of students? If so, you may wish to transfer ownership of your property and receive tax benefits. You might even be able to stay in your property during your lifetime and still get the benefits that could include:
- Immediate tax savings.
- Continued use of your property for life.
- Satisfaction of knowing Benedictine College will use your generous gift to help students in the future.
IRA Charitable Rollover
If you’re 70 ½ or older, you must take out your Required Minimum Distribution* (RMD) each year from your IRA. A Charitable IRA Rollover to Benedictine College satisfies your RMD and reduces your taxable income!
* Congress has waived the annual Required Minimum Distribution from IRA Accounts in the year 2020 as part of the CARES Act in response to COVID-19. Please consider seeking advice from your financial advisor or tax professional to understand how recent changes to laws governing retirement plans may impact you and your charitable gift.
Memorial or Tribute Gift
A memorial or tribute gift is a meaningful way to express your love, admiration, and gratitude for someone special. Your gift will honor your loved one, create a lasting tribute, and sustain students at Benedictine College for generations to come. This is a special way to show how much you care. No gift is too small. When you make a memorial gift in someone’s honor, Benedictine College will send an acknowledgement to the family or person you would like to memorialize.
If you know that your employer matches donations to charities, please feel free to make a donation to Benedictine College that allows for this match. It’s a great way to double your impact for students succeed and thrive.
